Russian Delegation Convenes in Reno to Tackle Juvenile Justice Issues, Nevada Business

The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ), the Nevada Division of Child and Family Services and the Child Assault Prevention Project participated in a roundtable at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Speakers discussed initiatives, justice systems and protective services offered to juveniles. The roundtable focused on the challenges encountered regarding justice and treatment programs involving families in crisis, gender-based violence, child protective services, victims rights, the school-to-prison pipeline and the effectiveness of juvenile and family courts through judicial education.

Department of Justice Finds Leflore County, Mississippi, Juvenile Detention Center School Violated Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, The United States Department of Justice

The Justice Departments Civil Rights Division announced today that it has completed its investigation of special education services at the Leflore County, Mississippi, Juvenile Detention Center and found that the state of Mississippi violated the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) at the detention center school.
